Features of Our Substance Abuse IOP for Young Adults

Many intensive outpatient programs meet several times during the week, but leave the newly sober individual to seek out their own recovery network, meetings, social groups, and resources. At The Insight Program, we build these essential features into our program, removing a critical stumbling block from the early recovery process:

Weekly 12-step meetings for young adults

Every Monday and Thursday evening, we host 12 step meetings for young adults right at our facility in Roswell, GA. These meetings allow young adults to connect with each other, share a common solution, and develop critical relationships to support their recovery.

Full-Featured Parent Support Group

Even above age 18, young adults’ lives are often intertwined with their immediate family, and they are frequently still being supported by their parents. For this reason, we’ve built a weekly parent support group meeting into our schedule every Thursday evening, to support the family and provide guidance.

Weekly Sober Social Events

Young adults continue to have high social needs, and are highly influenced by their peers. Without a suitable replacement to fill this void, chances of recovery are very slim. That’s why we offer sober social events twice weekly at our Roswell facility.

Individual Counseling

We build weekly individual counseling and treatment planning appointments into each young adult’s program, to celebrate their successes, set goals, and discuss challenges.

We’re approximately 2 miles east of downtown Roswell’s historic district and about 1.5 miles south of the Chattahoochee River, making us easily reachable for families from North Fulton County, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and the broader Atlanta metro region seeking our outpatient and intensive outpatient program (IOP) services.

Intensive outpatient can be a strong fit for young adults who need structured support to get sober but don’t require the 24/7 supervision of a residential or inpatient program.

We help families determine the right level of care through a no-cost substance use evaluation.

Our Roswell adolescent IOP program serves young adults aged 18-25 who live in Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton, John’s Creek, Sandy Springs, and surrounding areas. Additionally, we are a family-focused program and we ask that the parents of young adults in our program attend the weekly Roswell parent support group meetings.

The program lasts between 6-12 weeks, generally. Upon entry into the program, we will set out and agree upon various goals for the course of treatment with the young adult and their family. Our discharges are based on progress, rather than time.

Our IOP welcomes young adults dealing with various substance use challenges. The program is centered on helping them find connection, purpose, and joy in sobriety—something better than what they left behind.
