Adolescent IOP Program Features

Many intensive outpatient programs meet during the week, and then leave the newly sober individual to seek out their own meetings, sober social groups, and recovery resources. At the Insight Program, these critical features are built into the program itself. Our program includes:

Weekly 12-step meetings for teens

Our facility in Raleigh hosts two substance use support group meetings for teens, right in our facility. This removes the need for teens to seek their own support groups and helps them develop positive peer relationships with people they already know in recovery.

Full-Featured Parent Support Group

It’s not just young people who need support during this process – parents often feel just as much strain as their young person. Our weekly parent support group meetings assist parents in responding to each individual challenge they face along their family’s recovery journey.

Weekly Sober Social Events

Teens are extremely social, and without a way to have fun without drugs, their success rates in recovery are very low. The Insight Program’s IOP for adolescents specifically addresses this problem by offering weekly sober social events for adolescents every weekend.

Individual Counseling

Our program is not a one-size-fits-all solution. We meet with each teen once per week for individual counseling, during which we celebrate successes, help assess progress, and determine specific treatment plans week-to-week.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Raleigh IOP for Teens

Intensive outpatient is a term for substance use treatment wherein the teen lives at home with their family during the course of treatment. During this time, the teen will visit our facility daily for group counseling sessions.

This is distinct from residential treatment or partial hospitalization (PHP) programs, which are sometimes necessary for more severe cases.

The benefit of choosing an IOP program is that teens get to navigate their day-to-day challenges while still actively participating in their program, allowing them to put their recovery tools to use immediately.
