A weekly parent support group meeting for parents of young people with substance use disorder, addictions, or alcohol problems. We meet every week on Wednesday evenings in Charlotte.

Parents from our support group for parents of drug addicts supporting each other after a meeting.

If you're struggling to respond to a teen or young adult child who struggles with alcohol, addiction, or substance use, don't suffer in the dark! This support group meeting for parents of addicts and substance users helps Charlotte-area parents find encouragement, real solutions, and healing.

These meetings are held every Wednesday evening. Each week, the meeting covers a different topic related to responding to a loved one abusing drugs or alcohol.

All meetings are voluntary, parent-led, and attended by our substance abuse counseling staff.

Meeting topics include:

  • Setting appropriate boundaries and how to stick with them
  • Getting on the same page with your spouse
  • Coping mechanisms for dealing with guilt, shame, and fear
  • Responding to questions from friends and family
  • Developing supportive relationships with other families of addicts and substance users
  • How to utilize a 12-step program similar t Al-Anon family groups in the context of dealing with teen or young adult children
